Thread: Volvo DP-E props

    Default Volvo DP-E props

Honestly not sure what props I have, but with an 8.1 crusader in my 25 I am at about 4300 rpm and 45mph empty top speed and 33mph at 3500 rpm cruise. Previous owner states the drive is a 1.78 ratio I believe. I regularly run trips with full fuel, 4-5 guys and lots of gear. When the tanks are full I have to have the people move towards the front to get on plane and wondering if I could benefit from flatter props.

Can anyone tell me what props I have or how to identify what props I have?

There should be part numbers on the props, are they aluminum or stainless. I run C4 props on my boat and incarrry very heavy loads.

They are stainless. Never noticed any stampings, but ill look closer. I run in freshwater, any reason to run stainless over aluminum?

most of the stainless props have a VP part number along with the size stamped on the hub; the earlier props may have only had a size stamping. ie C4 or C5, or C6 ect.
The drive ration should be stamped on a plate on the top of the drive.
With those numbers you are definately over-proped.
