  • Chips on Non-Skid Deck

I have developed some chips in my cockpit floor from the occasional slip of a sinker or from the butt end of an offshore rod.

Does anyone have a recommendation for dealing with these chips?

Call down to the factory and have them send you some colored gel coat, a spot cleaning with acetone, light scuff with some paper and a dab of gel coat(leave it a little high) When dry sand level with non skid and then carefully cut the diamond pattern in with the edge of 300 grit paper. A little compound, wash and I dare you to try and find the touch up.

I have done this in probably 20 spots on my deck and you can't find one of them.

    Good luck,
