  • Seat Storage

Finally finished my "interior" seating. I originally had two pedestal seats and one storage unit behind the port seat. I purchased from Keith another storage unit (actually an ice box) for behind the helm seat and had another seat fabricated by Nautical Design in Pa. for the port side. It is 36" wide by 18" and 31" high with a door on the starboard side. In addition to the additional seating I wanted, I had it designed to hold my life raft and life preservers - now off to the deep.

    Sounds Good

Good idea. Post a pic for us when you get a chance. I'd like to see it.

Finally took a few pictures of the seating set up. The base of the 36" seat holds an offshore valise raft; 4 offshore jackets, flares and sat phone.

Do you have contact info for them?

I'd like to see if I could buy one out of the same mold.

How is it secured to the deck? Thru bolted or screws?

I positioned it so you can lift the hatch fully without having any problem. I still have to remove the helm pedestal seat - but this one stays in place.

                    Contact info?

I want to see if I can buy one off the same mold; cheaper than trying to make it myself!

They have a generic mold and will customize it any way you want. I had some strips placed on the bottom so that the raft valise would slide right in through the door opening and not have to be lifted over the "lip". They typically have ads in the back of Big Game - I'll look for their number and post it if you want.

Did anyone buy one from the same mold. I love the idea of having the extra storage. What did it cost?

I think the cost was around $1,600 - they have a generic mold for the seat and can make it any width.

                            great idea

This is a great idea and a good use of wasted space, especially for the raft and life jackets.

                              US Chevy,
Do you have it on your boat. If so, would you mind me taking a look. We have our Diesel work done by Forked River Diesel and would like to check it out next time I am over that way.

                              Thanks,
