  • Interior touch up paint

Thanks to zippers rubbing and general wear, I have some areas on the black inside window trim that have been rubbed or scratched down to the raw aluminum (I assume it's al). What do you guys recommend for touch up paint? Also, I assume a good sanding with fine grit is the way to go. Thanks!

The black frame is most likely black anodize (spelling) not paint. I really do not know what the best way to touch it up. I would not sand it untill you research it further.

The white frames on the bigger boats are powder coat I think.

Might have to go to the top on this one.

      I have some

Dave - I have a good primer and black paint which has held up well over the past 2 years. I don't know the brand off hand but it was West Marine standard coatings.

the key was to sand down the old chips and then prep the area thoroughly w/ acetone, put a good layer of primer on, then follow with a thin layer of black paint.
