  • Microwave Removal

I removed the microwave on my 2001, 28 and for those that have not done it, you would be amazed at the space it uncovers-it's huge! The shelf/deck of the cabinet is finished already so all you need to do is install a matching door to the other one. My project is done and the total cost was about $90 (new door and hardware). The finished product looks factory.

If anyone wants pics or details email me at: [email protected]

I was considering getting rid of my microwave too. Can I buy the door and hardware from the factory?

Laukia, did your teak come finished as seen in the photo or did you coat it with some type of finish? I would like to put a clear topcoat on mine.

Not sure but I had mine made locally. The picture you are looking at is for a boat that was ordered from the factory without a microwave. Your rough opening will be much larger to retrofit ie; the new door is much bigger than the one forward of it.
