Hard top CC28.
Looking to install a pair of outriggers. I will not keep them on the boat full time so I was leaning towards the gunnel mounted Rupp or Taco bases. After inspecting for a gunnel installation however that doesn't look doable due to the gunnel sweeping up at an angle where they should be located. You really need a flat area for the holders or the angles the poles will sit are thrown off.
That brings me back to hard top mounted bases as an option. What I don't like about that is the visual of the boat without the poles installed ie; just the bases are sitting on the roof. The other thing with top mounted bases is the dripping factor, everyone with those mounts (Taco or Rupp) says that the bases will drip slightly during heavy rain. Not a big deal perhaps but still an annoyment.
Does anyone have Taco or Rupp bases on a hard top so I could see where you installed them? If you do, please send pics. Thanks.
