Transmission life of the ZF 63A on yanmar boats
I'm curious if any 28 owners with yanmars have had transmission troubles? Seems the zf63a is the transmission placed on 28's with the 315 yanmars, but referencing the transmission torque rating and the yanmar torque curve...it seems as if the max torque rating on the transmission is about 60 nm below the engine output from 2200 rpms to about 3300. Anyone know if the tranny can hold up with these engines in a 28 classic long term?

Or any CC owners with volvo D-6's. I'm just curious why volvo and yanmar would pair their engines with the smaller zf 63, when those engine puts out more torque than the transmission is rated for. In fact, volvo offers the zf 63and the zf 80 with the D-6. Maybe I'm looking at the wrong data, or just not looking at it correctly, can anybody shed some light here?
