My boat has a 300 Kamd Volvo but when I was out today the boat was running fine but when I put the boat in nuetral to jig some blues and when I decided to move again as soon as I put the boat in gear the engine shut off. I opened the hatch and checked the fuses and saw the one on top was burned out. I replaced and the boat ran fine until I stopped again and let it idle in nuetral for a minute or two but as soon as I put the boat in gear the engind shut off and the fuse was burnt out again. Changed the fuse again and was able to make it back to the dock with no problem. I let the boat idle at the dock for a while put in gear but everything was working fine. Has anyone hear every have this problem.

I haven't had this issue but would recommend calling Mac at the factory for guidance if you haven't already taken it to the dealer.
Your issue makes me want to take inventory on all possible fuses. You were prepared. I'm not aware of any spare fuses on board. Did you stock up?LRC

The fuse on top? Explain the location.
I have kamd 44p's but look identical to your engine. As you know I have some experience with fuses blowing (compressor fuse), which is the second one under the black box on the top/left of the engine. Are you saying that the fuse you blew was the first fuse under the left side of the black box? Both are easy to identify because they are 7.5 amps.
As FYI, Volvo puts two spare fuses in each black box.Bullish

I wouldn't no where to start with that fuse. I don't think that the owners manual offers any suggestions either. Maybe if you call John, he will have a couple of recommendations.
He fixed my compressor fuse blowing problem last week with a new compressor clutch.
Please let me know if you figure it out.Bullish

Kamd 300
There are 4 different service manuals comprising total coverage of this engine and outdrive. I priced these out when I first bought my boat and total cost was $140. That was in 2004, probably more now.
Seems marine manufacturer's make it difficult for the consumer to afford service manuals. Auot service manuals have gone the same route.
I may still spring for thise but this rig is too compex to be guessing how the ECD is wired.

Took my boat to the dealer he check out what was wrong he said I must have a had a bad batch of diesel that water was making my fuel injector pump stick so it was no getting enough fuel at idle that it would get hot and burn out the fuse. I am going to try to use some injector cleaner and hopefully it will work if not I will have to rebuild or replace the pump in the winter.
