  • Control Problem

We have are a 2002 28" diesel. The accelerator controls work to speed up the boat fine, but when the lower control is pulled back to idle the tower control lever stays forward. It does not come back automatically. You can pull it back and start over with no problem, but then it will stay forward again. Lower lever controls the fuel fine. Any suggestions?

    Salt Solution.

Just throttle & not transmissions also? Hydraulic Controls? If so you just may be low on fluid. Not real sure though.

Just throttle. It is hydraulic. I'll check fluid level.

I have hydraulic controls and they have 1 resevour for both throttle and gears. If it was a low fluid problem, I think it would effect both levers but maybe not. I never got into the system that close to see exactly how it works but i'm sure I will someday.

I just looked in the manual. Mine are Hynautic controls. Another thing to check is make sure that the system is pressureized to 80psi.
