  • Pathways to CC28 Bilge

Has anyone ever mapped out all the various paths to our bilge? We have false floors under our engines and in our cabins. I think there is an opening that runs between the area under our stairs and the deep area just fwd of the fwd bilge pump - but I can't tell for sure. I'd like to try to make sure that all the various openings are clear - but I am not certain where they all are.

    Steve,

I had an issue with water under the false floor on the starboard side. There are 3 drain holes on the false floor under ea engine, the third is all the ways towards the aft of the engine room right up against your insulation. I took a plumbers snake and sent it thru all three. It pushed all the way to the back of the boat and pushed all jusk out and now it drains freely.

Thanks! I'll look into using a snake. I'm still a bit confused about the path from under the engines to the deepest part of the bilge.

        Drawing

Keith completed a crude drawing I made showing where/how water from various locations gets to the bilge on the 28. If any of you want a copy let me know and I'll forward it.

Same Here, perhaps you can scan the drawing & post the pic for all to see.

              Thanks,

                drawing

Hey guys. I got a bit behind over the holiday and I just saw your replies. I'll try to get some time tomorrow afternoon to post the drawing which is in my work eMail. Remember - it's a bit crude.

Lets give this a try. The red marks are approximate locations of openings that ultimately drain to our bilge. I made the crude drawing and Keith kindly added the red marks. Click on the thumbnail below and it should enlarge and become readable.
