Oil Pressure difference-Cummins 4bt

I have a 01 CC28 with about 1000 hours and I am beginning to see an oil pressure drop on the port engine. I am not experiencing any performance loss nor have I developed any leaks. I switched the wires on the gauges and produced the same results. I am thinking it could be the sending unit.

Is there an easy way to check the output of the sending unit or do I have to change it out. Perhaps there is another solution you may suggest.

It is easy enough to switch the sending units between engines and see what the results are before you go any further.
