  • Fuel Flow

Have a '95 25' with 8.1 Volvo Penta. In the manual it states that the fuel flow draws from both tanks evenly. When I run a distance it seems to draw from the port tank. I spoke with the previous owner and he said that he would cut back one of the fuel valves thus making the engine draw from the other tank. Is this the best way?

Thats what I do. Takes a little trial & error to find the right spot. Mine seems to differ a little based on throttle setting. Long runs at cruise speed the draw from each tank seems about equal. Long hours slow trolling seems to draw more from the starboard tank. Not sure why, but its not really a problem.

        fuel flow

Have '95 25 with Merc engine. With both tanks on, ALWAYS draws from the Starboard tank. Previous owner told me it has always done this.

You can fiddle with how open the valves are... I just tend to run on both tanks in the morning, than close the starboard off for the afternoon.. resulting in about equal draw.
