Hatch lift w/ dead batteries?

I've heard rumor that if the house side batteries are dead that a battery pack with a 12 V plug can be plugged into the 12V plug receptacle in the cabin and give the system power to get the hatch up.

is this true or false?

True, my mechanic did it on my 25CC. Get one of those "Y" adaptors with a cigarette male end on one side and a plus/neg terminal on the other. Attach it to a portable battery and plug it into the cigarette lighter and hit the button.

Hatch not opening

How do you by pass hydraulic pumps to open hatch when they are not working?

Inside the head area there is a ball valve assembly attached to the bulkhead. This valve is the normally closed position. if you need to open the hatch place the valve in the open position which lets fluid pass between both sides of the hydraulic rams. Just make sure you place a bar in the opening to hold the hatch open. I usually have to remove both seats and the tackel boxes to get the weight of the hatch down. Good Luck.

Capttom, thanks for reply, did not find valve in head going pull fish box look in there. I hear motor running I was hopping valve was knocked open some how as I operated the hatch before I went fishing. Any way I failed to post it is a 28’ 2000 if that makes any difference. Didn't get into any of the bluefin either still had a great day with my sons.

The hatch bypass valve on the 28 is behind the trouble plate on the stairway leading into the cabin. At least that's where it was on my 1994.
