The 12v charging circut seems to have took a dump on my westerbeak. It seems that I need to check the bridge rectifier but I have no clue where it is. Not sure if it is external or inside the generator half somewhere. Maybe it's as simple as a fuse.It runs fine and the 120v side is fine. It's impossible to see the back side of this thing so any help would be great. Just trying to fix it my self before calling for a service tech which is 200$ after the first year.

Steve, there is a 12v side in the genny.Just not sure where it is located. I don't see a external alternator so I assume it is internal somewhere. Even has a volt meter to monitor the voltage on the controll panel on the genny.Life is to short for an ugly boat

12volt Batt Charger
Tom:
Part Number 35981 -- the battery charging circuitry. On the genset end it is under the top cover on top -- dark gray/black with three wires/leads coming off of it. You can check with a volt meter to see output.
Red is positive, Black is neg should out put ~13.5 volts while the genset is running.
If the part is bad let me know and I'll get you one and ship it with the rest of your parts. They are about $330 (I'll need to check for exact number).

I did check that fuse and it was good. I checked the bridge rectifier as per their instructions and found to be bad. I just keep forgetting to get a new one. They will send me the parts free of charge under warranty. I will try to remember to order this week.
Thanks for all the responsesLife is to short for an ugly boat
