This past weekend, the a/c was running fine but then for some reason the readout changed to "99" and the unit proceeded to run without any cooling effect. None of the buttons functioned, and shutting down the breaker had no effect. When it came back on, it read "99" again and none of the buttons could shut it down or alter the settings. Anyone have any similar episodes?

I had a problem once and cant remember what was showing on the LED. I referenced the manual and there are some codes that correspond to the LED readout. First thing I would check if the 99 is not a code is whether the pump is operating and water is flowing. I would also check the strainer to make sure enough water is available to the system. My problem occurred in the winter attempting to run heat when the water was really cold and it kept getting a code and shutting the reverse cycle unit off.Jim B.
