  • Caught line around props?????

Out fishing last weekend and lost 2 fish because the lines got tangled in the props. Removed what seemed to be a lot of line from between the props. Plan on removing props this week. What should I be looking for related to seals, etc. I want to be certain that this line has not caused any kind of damage. Thanks for the insight.

If you did any damage which is not likely unless you were running braid or ran a long time with it on you might check your loer unit oil for water or oil leakage.

My recommendation is to pull the wheels & ensure no line has gotten behind (abow of)the forward most wheel. If any line has invaded here, you'll be wise to replace the shaft seals.

Read on other web pages that a torque wrench is required. Do I need to torque the bolts when I reassemble?????

Is there anything else I should be aware of?

          Many thanks for any insight.....
