Guys, I've did some searching but still unclear, I want to replace all 3 of my batteries in my 01 28. Any reccomendations? I don't want to replace with optimas becasue I think I'd have to get a new charger right?
    Engines are 4bta-250's.

    Thanks for any help

Some chargers have a switch on the back for the different types. Check that first.

      Optimas

What year is your 28?? I had a 2001 and switched to optimas in 2004 and did not have to make any changes to the charger. In my opinion optimas are a good idea ... The battery access is good, but I fried a new set of batteries in a season because I routinely ignored the 'check the water in the battery' bit'o'maintenance. So for me the optimas made sense.

Unlike older gel cells, the optimas react well to most exiting chargers.

      I hope this helps.

I appreciate the responces but my charger is Lead acid only. 2001.
Thinking of getting 2 group 24 800cca for the engines and a deep cycle for the house. Does this make sense

I changed my charger so I could run the Optimas, IMO, the group 24 lead acids in the 28 are a weak link. I spent the extra $250 and changed the charger. I installed 2 Blue Top 1000 CCA's & 1 Blue Top 31 series (from memory so I could be off) It was worth every cent!! No more battery issues in 3 seasons.

Just wanted to say for those who don't want to spend the money for the optima's this is what Keith told me they still use deka 24m-7.
              Thanks again for the replys.
