My son and I started in l995 with a CC25 (454 volvo gas) and were very pleased with it for 6 years. Now own a l995 CC28 (454 volvo gas) that we have run a little over 500 hours. No real problems until this season when we had to replace throttle and shift lines/components on all stations as well as steering upgrade. Work was done by Town Creek Marina in Beaufort, NC and we like the results so far. The 28 is a great boat in my opinion, but we are beginning to consider the larger CC's with diesels.
