    Hello,
I have signed on as a new member. My CC 28 is now under construction and I hope to have it ready by May. Here in the Northeast (Cape Cod, MA), fishing doesn't start until May due to weather, fish, etc. I fish mainly for tuna about 30 miles offshore, and also early spring for striped bass and bluefish. I have had a twin engine 2004 Grady White, and am struck by the tremendous difference in weight and horsepower of the CC 28. I would appreciate some feedback on the fishing qualities and manuverablity of the CC 28. My pasttime is rod building and have just finished a tuna rod finished in abalone shell and Winthrop guides for tuna. It is a bent butt with tuna weaves. I find custom rods work better for me by my fitting them to my size and abilities. I hope to hear from anyone regarding thier experiences, particularly here in the NE. Where I am, Carolina Classics are coveted but not frequently seen. Thanks,

    Sanford,

Welcome.. This site is full of good people and great info as we all have a common interest. The folks at Carolina are second to none.

Good luck in the Spring when you take delivery. I've fished my 28 out of OC Md for the past 4 yrs and enjoyed every day on it.

The rod building you mention sounds interesting. Any pictures you could post of them?

Also, do you build for just yourself or will you build for others?

Thanks for the reply. I am originally from the area of OC, MD. and am now up in Mass. I fished the canyons for years. I will post some pictures of the rods I am making and am not in the business, but will sell a few. I hope the new CC 28 is all they say it is.
