  • anchor rode for a 25

How much line will fit in the anchor locker of a 25 (1/2 or 5/? also any recomendations on an anchor for soft sand/mud bottoms. I will not have a windlass as I rarely anchor and that is what teenage sons are for! Thanks Rick H

    25 Anchor locker/Anchor

I've recently ordered a 25 and Mac advises that 600' of 9/16 line and at least 15' of chain is what he recommends for the factory installed windlass. As for the anchor itself, there are many differing opinions. I can tell you that if you go for a "Danforth" type anchor, the hi-tensile anchors are far superior, albeit at a higher cost.

Wish I would have ordered the windlass. Could use it a lot perch fishing.

I rarely anchor, but the anchor locker seems huge to me. I have 350' of 1/2" with 10' of chain, the anchor, a fender, my dock lines for the front and who knows what else in there and still have room. Granted there is no reason to anchor most times where we fish, but would think the locker is adequate for all but the most extreme situations.
