  • Thinking of upgrading to a 32 or 35

I have had my 28cc for a few years and have been very happy but I am thinking of selling it and upgrading it to a 32 or 35. Can someone tell me the difference and if is a real big difference from a 32 to a 35.

I will let CClassic28 (Chris) chime in on this one first. Then I will comment.

The main difference between the 32 and 35 is the cabin. The helm deck is also a little bigger but the cockpit is the same. It is 4" wider but the same front to back. I'm sure it might ride slightly better because it is longer and also heavier but I don't think there is a big difference. I chose the 32 for 2 reasons. I could'nt afford the 35 new and I like the helm deck on the 32 much better. Your not far from me so if you wanted to see my boat you are welcome to take a look. Just let me know.

If you compair them to the Henriques, I think either CC will ride better because of the weight difference and the deeper V bottom. You can't beat the size of the cockpit on the Henriques. Nobody makes one as large as they do. The Henriques will be more economical to run and drift better because of the flatter stern section. The Henriques only has a Marlin Tower if that matters to you. Fit and finish is close to the same on either. Eye appeal goes to the CC on the inside and outside. I think they are great looking boats and they stand out in a crowd.I think the Henriques falls between the 32 and 35 CC pricewise but not 100% sure on that. Now that I think about it, it is probably very close to the 35CC.

They are both good boats with the edge going to the CC. IMO the CC is a stronger and heavier built boat but that has a down side meaning more power to push and more fuel to run but I will put up with that anyday.

Sorry for the late response. I own a 28 myself and have been thinking about a move to either the 32 or 35. I finally last week had the chance to fish & run a 32 and I must say it was impressive. The 32 runs as well or better than most 35-38 express style boats out there. I have not yet fished a 35 and I am certain the add'l 3' will make it a better running boat but IMO, probably not worth the extra 100K and 12-15 GPH fuel burn. (for my needs)

I agree with Tom on the helm deck layout, and I must say the visibility from the helm deck aft is quite clear & uncluttered. The only issue I do have, being only 5-10" visibility foward without the help of tabs was an issue for me. I would like to see the helm chair 3-4" higher. I will assume that the 35 would be more of an issue being that the 3' difference in length is mainly in the cabin area.

To compare the CC to a Henriques I again agree with Tom's statements.

Regarding rod storage, in the cabin there is none supplied but at least 10 outfits could easily be hung on the ceiling over the foward berth just like the 28 and 4 more could easily be mounted on the rear bulkhead of the head compartment.

BTW, if you buy a 32 or 35, get the refrigerated deck boxes, they will save you about 300# of ice per trip!!

Good luck & keep us posted,

            Chris

i just made the jump from the 28 to the 32 in january and it is a huge difference. although i never really looked at the 35 there was one at the dealership and could not tell that much difference in the cockpit. major differences were the bunks downstairs and the seating by the helm. the 32 rides like a beast. still has the carolina classic roll but a lot better then the 28. i agree the freezer plates kick ass.

                        Missprint,

@ 25 knots what RPM's are you turning fully loaded ? what % load does your smartcraft gauges show @ that speed. Just trying to get some real time #'s for the 425's.

                        Thanks,

not 100% sure but i know that i really never run the boat over 85% load so i know that it is below that. as far as the rpm i am guessing sort of but i think it is arund 2700.

ok, just some Info....my 35 with rough paint job on bottom, does 22 kts burning 35/per hour...I expect to gain a couple of kts after soda blasting her and putting on a proper paint job this winter.

The 35 is bigger and heavier....I did some sporty water 8/26 & 8/27 and the boat handled it great...You can't go wrong with the 35.....I must say I would be dissapointed if the 32 only did 25 burning 32gph...it should cruise better then that....IMO.

As anyone will tell you from this board the guys at CC are great to deal with. My expierence with Keith has been first class.
