So I have been trying to get some feedback on THT re: the ride on the 32/35. I only recieved on response and it was not that great.

I know the Cabo 35 has a reputation (well deserved) for being a wet boat. It also is not a great running boat in anything over 2ft. I have spend a fair amount of time on a post 2000 hull.

I was thinking about getting either a 32 Cabo or the CC. I was disappointed to hear from someone that has many hours on a 35 that w/the 480s the boat is lugs trying to get over a swell and pounds in anything over 3ft.

What say you 32/35 owners? Personally I have a 28 (pending sale) and it rode really well. It is however a challenge for the boat to get out of the hole and does lug going up the back of a wave. Thats with 250's no
    tower/genny/ac.

    Thanks for your feedback.

            ride 35/32

we have a 03 35 with cummins 480 c gen set tower and it rides like a brick [email protected]#% house people that say it pounds dont know how to trim the boat 2200 rpm 24-25 kts in a 6 ft head sea with full fuel 450 lbs of ice provisions for 2 days 8 flats and 3 buckets of chumm 4 guys aboard burning 28 30 gph not bad for a 35ftr that rides like a 40 . we fished the star island shark tourny in 6 foot head seas ran78 nm @ 30 kts no problem ,no one passed us on the way out we trimmed the bow down and it was off to the races .and as far as enough power to climb up the back of waves and getting out the hole the 480's are up to the task. personaly there isnt an other boat that id rather be in , in that class .

              Keep it clean!

              Guys,

Lets keep this clean and friendly. We are all interested in what everyone has to say but there is a way to get your point across that will not offend anyone.

              Thanks,

No problem, as I am just as excited to hear about your experience. I know my 28 rides awsome and would expect to hear the same about the 32 & 35.

I am sure the gentleman who commented that the 35 ran poorly just wasn't experienced enough to know how to effectively trim a boat and at what speed to run at.

All you need to do is look at the running bottom & the weight of the boat and you will know for sure its a great runner!!

                  Good Luck,

                  Chris

My 28 was a GREAT riding boat. It was a little sluggish getting out of the whole but once out it had a phenomenal ride.

I am not trying to incite or troll, I just would like to hear from a few owners as those that have been kind enough to rpt so far.

I sold my CC for under 90K. A total disappointment. That was after two years of being on the market. I must add however that I did not try very hard to market the boat and it was mostly on a local site here in San Diego. Once I got tired of being a boat salesman and having a few brokers fail to come through with a buyer I sent the boat "home".

                    Thanks again for you input.

Hey Split Decision; I have followed your posts since you got your boat and I can't wait to hear about perfomance and economy not that you have some time on the water.

The boat rides great. If this boat pounds a lot, I would hate to ride on anything else because it would be unbearable. I don't think that there are many boats that ride as good as one of these especially with all that weight. I believe it's about 24000 lbs with the 35 pushing 30000lbs.

I have the cummins 380s and cruise is 27kts. With a full canyon load and I mean really loaded I start the trip at about 24 kts. It's not to often that you can run faster than that anyway. Burn at that speed is about 32 gph. It is not the most fuel efficient boat but it is the best riding one. I would not trade it for anything.

If you owned a 28, you all ready know about the rocking. I have never been on a 28 but by what others have said I don't believe it is much different. Maybe a little less.

If you have any specific questions, fire away.

                        Ride

I have the 35, over labor day weekend this year the seas got snotty. We slowed down to 16 kts in consistent quartering seas very very steep and 6 feet. White caps and sea foam everywhere. The boat could have handled more but the people could not. We never pounded and there were alot of bigger boats doing less then 16, including a 52 hatteras. And another day we came in and it was snotty, but not as deep or steep, we drove in at 24 kts, 32 cabo was digusted about the pounding he took. If you want a boat in the 35 to 40 foot range, there are two boats to look at. 38 black fin express and 35 Carolina Classic. Out side of that your sacraficing rough water handeling.
