  • North Carolina Early Season Offshore Fishing

I am considering taking delivery of my new 28 down at the factory in mid-late March/early April and fishing out of Morehead City for a week or two perhaps and then running north to home instead of land shipment. Could any local NC guys advise as to whether that is too early to see much action offshore? I know that is probably after the winter inshore Giant BFT tuna bite but I wasn't sure when the yellowfin, wahoo, etc gets going.

I assume the weather is decent by then? I will have heat for the cabin and helm.

    Thanks for any advice.

March and April should be good yellowfin time. Along with snapper and groupers.
