  • Adjusting CC25 Ritchie Compass

I have a 25CC with the Ritchie SS2000 flush mount compass. It's about 10 deg off. I have found a little bit on theRitchie web site on how to adjust it but a lot is lacking. Does anyone know how you get to the compensating bars etc.

If anyone has the info I would like to hear from them.

I noticed too coming back from the canyon yesterday. I didn't know there was an adjustment. Anyone know how this works?

If you unscrew the compass you will see 2 small screws on the side and front or back not sure which just under the flange. One is for north-south and the other is east-west. They move small magnets inside the compass and turn the card. I can tell you that it is a long process to get it right so you might want to pay someone to compensate it for you if you want it accurate but I don't think that is cheap to do either.

The compensation procedure is on the Ritchie web site but it left out how to get to the adjustors.

My hunch is that the compass will be off due to the close proximity of the electronics on either side of the binacle and not sure if I will ever be able to correct it. Right now it is off about 20 degrees.
