Installed the acme nibrals this past weekend and gained 5 knots. I now have the boat cruising at 28 knots @ 2450rpm. Time to plane is also about 3 times faster, she now jumps out of the water. Called Mac to let him know my results and he said when I haul my boat and sand the bottom smooth and repaint with a short nap roller I should gain a few more possibly. I still have 2 sets of 4 blade hy-torqs I am looking to sell; one set is 17x20 and the other is 17x21, $400 a set.

Ed, I've got Cummins 6BTA 330hp with a gear ratio of 1:1.23. I must admit my old props were worked wrong for my boat. I was only getting 24kts at 2500rpm. I knew I was missing alot of speed and after talking to Mac was convinced that I should invest in the acme's. I ordered them thru Carolina Classic but had them delivered to my house. The props were $1500 plus shipping via UPS. I had them boxed in plywood boxes to avoid damage in transit. They are 17x20 with a #5 cup. Acme says you should drop an inch in pitch from standard props as the acmes have alot more surface area per blade. Not only does my boat now get on plane quicker and go faster, an added bonus is there is no vibration. I'm getting 2800rpm WOT and Mac says once I get my bottom smooth I may gain enough rpm to add a little more cup. I'm not trying to be a spokesperson for acme but it honestly feels like a whole different boat.Jim B.

I have a 2001, am the 2nd owner, so I cant say for sure if the originals were from the factory. I have not received the bill from CC for the props yet but I recall hearing $70 for shipping. The props are made in Michigan and I live in Va. Beach. I think they charged $50 for the woooden box option, I am not sure if that was a per prop cost or for both. It takes about 4-6 weeks for the factory to get them made. The people at acme are great, I got their phone number from the web site. If you call talk to Bill Weeks, he is the guy who deals with Mac.Jim B.

After reading the various threads about these props over the last year....I most likely am sold on them. Just deciding if I want to make the change mid-year or wait until Winter. $1,500 seems well spent if the boat gets on plane noticeably easier. I'm not as concerned with increased speed as I am with less wear and tear on the compressors and their clutch.Bullish
