I was also trying for 2, looks like Saturday is a go. I am planning to run DEEEEEP!!!! Hoping that Monday will be at least fishable for an inshore shark run.
I am just South of you guys and if the forecast does not change, will be making my first trip offshore this year on Saturday. Right now the water around the Tea cup looks good as well as the Poormans and Washington Canyon. The Washington looks the best and from the reports out of the Ocean City MD. Fleets it has produced some very good tuna so far this year. that is a haul for me, 77nm but I just may have to do it.
So far I am planning to go saturday. Not sure where or for what. If it's a little snotty, might do a short shark trip to the fingers. If good might go to the deep for shark or tuna. Going out of Barnegat inlet. I am usually on 71
My buddy will be at the fingers on Friday so if he gives a good report regarding water temp. and few dogfish...that's where I'll be on Saturday. I'll try to post tomorrow night wth his report if I can get access to a computer.
I'm going to fingers bright and early. My friend just got back from the fingers and reported only 1 blue shark and few run-offs. No bluefin on the troll. Best news was no dogfish. I'll report in Sunday morning.
Fished the Glory Hole yesterday caught a small mako about 70 inches also hooded up to a 7 ft mako after putting on a good show jumping out of the water a few times we lost him at the boat. The water was 71 only a few blue fish and no dog fish. There was also small bluefin jumping out of the water but no one seemed to catch any. Tommorow looks good hopefully I will be back out there. Tight Lines!
Sounds like you had a good trip to the glory hole. We fished hard at the Fingers for about 8 hours but only brought one 65 inch blue shark to the boat. We had one small mako doing back flaps in the slick and one big bluefish that was bitten in half. Water temp was 65.5.
