Went to the west wall of the Baltimore. Had a good night going 7 for, too many to remember.
Broke off alot of fish. Should of asked Spools out to make me some tuna rigs not sword rigs. Broke off 2 swords released a small shark, released a sunfish. Had them boiling behind the boat at daybreak but did'nt have enough ice or room for more fish. On the way out the charter boat Sea cure was coming in with 13 fish and directed us to his spot. Thanks to him we had a good night.

its ashame those carolinas dont have more fish box room.. even the 35 doesnt have enough for us... well way to get on the meat. sea cure is a top notch crew, very nice group of guys that will call people in right on his stern when they have them thick. congrats again.

Way to go PC, I was wondering if you got out. How big were the swords and did you get them to the boat before breaking them off? Did the leaders break or the mainline?

I could only fit 2 fish in each box and three in my canyon bag. I could of put a couple more in the big cooler but in the morning I was wiped out.I have to get a jumbo canyon bag in preparation for my sword or big eye. Maybe one day I 'll boat one.


Spools Out

If I would catch a sword with your rigs I would be eating steaks now, but unfortunatly it was our lines and tuna rigs that were snapping. I never changed the topshot from last trip and we had some 40-50 floro on the tuna rigs and we were making rigs as we were going. There was much more fish then with you. We were busy 5 hours straight from 7.30 to 1.am and a morning boil behind the boat that I wanted no part of.We must of busted off 7 fish and had 7 misses. And I was fishing only 2 lines because the lines were going to the bow and I was missing alot on the riggers. Now can you imagine if you and bruce had your 5 lines out. I'm assuming that the 2 bite were sword by the way they hit and the way they felt and busting off above the leader. You should've been there. It was last minute decision and we were going out blind with no reports heading for the spencer, and along came Sea Cure adding 30 deg to my heading and we were golden.

Yeh I was wondering if you got out. Really would have loved to go being out 1/2 day Thurs and the whole day Fri before kept me land based. That's tough when the the lines are doing that, but it sounds like it didn't stop you. Sea Cure is one class act and they catch a lot of fish. The night we were out we were fishing 80lb floro on the tuna rigs, when you have them like you did you could probably use anchor line and it would work. Were you on the drift or hooked up?
