Hudson report 8/26-27

We ran to the west side of the Hudson, dropping in @ the west elbow we trolled up a pair of longfin & missed on 2 bigeye bites One of the longfin came to the boat with a 150# mako chewing on his ass. Unable to gaff the mako or bait him we trolled straight down to the SW corner for the night. We proceeded to go 10 for 12 on yellows from 70 to 95# and with 12 boxed up we left them biting. What a way to spend my 35th birthday!! Here are a few pics

Nice catch. Hope you like to eat tuna. How did you miss the big eye?

The fish exploded on our spreader bars, throwing the hook bait airborn as they are very light (foam floats inside the hollow squid bodies) Maybe next time!
