      First trip

Took me close to 4 hours to get there doing 19 to 20 knts. Stopped halfway down the east wall and started trolling to find the break. Found the break w/ 78 degree water on the 500 line of the alligator bite but not a touch. Heard of a 275 blue released. Thing were looking down so decided to take the west wall up to the tip. When we got to the west wall saw another classic stopped in the water fighting fish. Trolled that area for a while not a touch, pointed the boat back up to the tip when 1 line goes off then another before we know it we were covered up. With 6 hookup managed to only get 2 in the box. Three came off while in the rod holders and the last one we were fighting which we thought was the biggest got off in the middle of the fight. The spreader bar came back with the one side squid line off. I'm thinking that it was tail wrapped and not even hooked. The 2 fish were 40 and 60 weights and caught on the cold side 66 degree water. Was kinda upset that we didn't boat more fish but it's better than a skunk.

At least you got to go out there and give ita shot. We've been looking at that break on the sat shots, wow. Did you troll any more after that hookup? Was that one of our bars that broke? If so get it over and we can fix it. I still have to get you some new stuff to try.. Great report. we are looking to head out Saturday for some early inshore trolling and then some sharking..

          good job

if I had a dollar for every hour spent blankly trolling the warm water and 10$ for every time I jumped 1/2 mile into the cold water and had the spread go off....

Nothing wrong w/ 2 n the box and digging out a save !

Great Job Petty Cash ! It didn't sound like bad trip at all, except for maybe the seas. 19-20 kts, so it must have been a choppy day. It sounds like a crimp problem on the spreader, but something must have hit the teasers on the spreader to pull the sleeve off.
