Had the privilege today to spend a couple of hours with Mr. Mac at the plant. What a first class operation along with Mac being a first class person. Mac give me the tour from one end to the other and answered all my question along the way. Sure is a pleasure knowing someone that really cares. Going to be heading down to Town Creek next weekend to put my order in for a 28, now that I've decided on power. Going to go with the Yanmars, there still manual but not a big fan of Volvo and the QSB,s will not fit.

How is yanmar getting around the electronic engine thing. I thought all engines after January06 had to meet the new regs.

Mac said that the Yanmar Man was in the factory yesterday and they have met the standerds for tear 2 that would take them through 2009. After that they would have to make changes to the motors because they will not meet tear 3.

To bad the QSBs won't fit. They are sweet.

The QSB,s where my first chose. Because they have add so much bigger parts to the block there just to wide. Mac said that he could "Shoe Horn" them in but there would be no room even for maintenance. What do you think about the 315 Yanmars.

Tons of space in there. You guys with newer boats are lucky - the new style hatches do not have the 2 " fixe edge on either side of the helm deck and that extra 2" on the outboard sides makes a huge difference in terms of access.
