1st offshore trip with the new D4's. Just as I had hoped and they had told me its a different boat now!

Powered up at 4:16 AM, lines in 96 nmiles away at 8:10 with 2 5-10 minute pit stops along the way. 25-26 knots the whole way at 3000 RPM.

2 for 3 on big eye and 6 for 6 on rat bluefin.

Powered up at 1:30 for the 92 nmile ride home and was at the harbor entrance at 4:53 with the same 2 pit stops along the way, 26-27 knots at 3050 RPM the whole way home.

152 gallons for the whole insane trip.

Larry, sounds like you found the right combo for that boat. These new commonrails are the best .

Nice fish by the way. What canyon do you fish that has the warmer water? Ours have'nt warmed up yet.

Clearly your research has paid off.

I used terrafin charts and headed for the blob of 66 degree water between the 2 canyons. Not hot but warm enough.

Larry,

Great to hear all is more than well with the boat. Nice fuel burn, and most of all good going with the tuners!!
