Need some ideas for outfitting a 28cc with the new style dash(like the 32).
Boat also has a tower. I am leaning towards a Raymarine e-120 setup because I am familiar with its operation. In addition to a 4kw radar and the Dsm 300 sounder, I wanted to go with a sirius weather module,Simrad ap16 autopilot and naturally 2 vhf radios(1 in tower). What are you guys doing for a remote control spotlight? What electronics do you have in your tower?
Do any of you have any suggestions on a 1kw transducer,I am looking at the Airmar 164 Tilted element. Last but not least if you have a windlass are you using it for anchoring at the canyons,I dont know if the anchor locker will hold enough rode.
Any responses will be greatly appreciated! Any pictures will be great!.

I can reply with an older 28:
Garmin 4212 mounted above the helm, all other components (radar, depth, xm radio and weather) are in the radio box to feed both units.
garmin 4208 in tower along side an older Furuno GPS (it was there originally, so I left it).
M 260 1 KW in hull transducer
4 KW radar
XM sat radio and weather
Robertson auto pilot
Winlass, but I don't go to the canyons. We use a seperate anchor system for grouper fishing. Float ball and lots of chain.
Dual Icoms, up and down.

I have the same as above but for the spotlight I use a Go-Light. All wireless, just add power. Model 3067

The best electronics are Furuno and the Nav Net is the way to go because you can interface everythig. I have a 28 Carolina with 12kw radar 10" screen, 1kw bottom 10" screen, 8" screen in the tower & simrad Auto. My experiance with Raymarine is not good. I wouldn't waste my money on anything less than a 6kw open array radar because, when you need the power in that bad storm you can see your way out.

I agree with 2xsteam. The Nav Net system just makes everything integrated so you can change dislpays around. You can see my pics on the user gallery (Reel Dreams). Went with the 6kw radar because it wasn't much more than the 4. I used the 1KW in hull wet box transducer. You might want to consider the command mic for your upper station and keep both radios downstairs. Used the ACR 200,000 candle power spotlight with remotes at both stations. Also went with the 16' Rupp antennas. Hope this helps.

You might want to hold off on the sirius or XM weather equipment right now. I heard this morning that the company is on the verge of going under. Their stocks dropped below 5 cents today. My partner and I just talked about looking into the service ut we are more than likely going to wait a bit:roll:

GPS: Northstar 6100i or Furuno NavNet3d. Integrate with SIRIUS Weather (seperate atenna reqired.)
Radios: 2 Standard Horizon VHF; 1 with a loud hailer and fog horn function. Have loud hailer mounted on hardtop.
Antennas: Digital 8' pole extension with 8' antenna. 16' total height per antenna, awesone range. mount on hardtop.
FLIR night vision camera mounted on bracket protruding from upper helm station.
Spotlight: ACL RCL 1000 remote controlled spot light. NOT Cheap but worth it. Mount it on same bracket as FLIR but on a different pedistal on same mount.
RADAR: 6 KW open array - Northstar or Furiuo depending upon GPS selected.
Auto Pilot: Simrad AP26
Sounder / fish finder: Furuno FCV 585 coupled with 1kw Airmar stanless steel thru-hull transducer. (Much easier to see from cockpit while fishing)
On-board stereo hooked into the Sirius / XM receiver module - only about $6.00 month when you have the sirius weather (Don't worry they will be around)
Flood lights: Mount on tower - 2 120 volt (presumed you have a 5kw gen set) 500w halogens facing stern into cockpit and 1 500w on each side of tower to illuminate port and stbd sides.
Dont forget a handheld VHF, GPS and a backup spotlight.
Hope this helps. (Now go apply for that second mortgage to pay for all of this!)
