Trying to get used to the Simrad CP30 I have. Who knows how to change the chart view so it shows a "heads up" display. Meaning the the chart is orientated so you are always shown heading straight ahead. Also how do you set it so you see a track of where you have been?
Secondly I also have the Simrad AP 11 autopilot although it is not hooked up to the nav unit. Any advice on doing this. Is there a specific NMEA cable or is it individual wires. Thanks!

I think I am the only simrad diehard on here. I have the newer setup and am not sure if they work the same. Is there anyway you could post a pic of the front so I could see what buttons you have?

On my CX44s I use the ENTER and ADJ keys to open the the menues to change the settings. I'm not sure if yours are the same or not.

Can't help with the first part. I do have the AP 11 though, and it connected to my nav system with one wire NMEA in. It doesn't require an out to nav so it just goes to ground. One wire from nav system , NMEA out, to NMEA in on AP 11. If you have the manual, it shows wire diagram and which pin to put it on. If you don't, the manual should be available for d/l on their site.

I did check my cx44 yesterday. I use the ADJ key and it is the second line down to change from heads up, course up, nav up and north up.

Thanks for the reply's. Simrad finally did get back to me and said this unit only shows in a course up mode. Guess I will just have to get used to it.
