Does anyone have a person or company they recommend for their electronics work in the Hampton Virginia area. Looking to add some maps and put a repeater screen upstairs. I am a little new to electroincs this sophisticated so I do not want to jump feet first into a 15,000 package change.

Tom, I installed my complete Garmin system myself. It all hooks up with Cat5 cable and each unit needs a power source. 12"+8" display at the helm and 6" display in the tower, digital blackbox sounder, 1KW transducer, XM weather and a 4KW radar. 5900.00. Its' all plug n play.

I'll second MAtt. He does great work, but getting him pinned down to a time can be hard sometimes. His number is 757-773-8490.

I got with Matt last week. I stopped by his shop at 3:00 last wed and he was on my boat at 4:30. I think he will have the work I want done by the end of this week. I think the convenience of where my boat is compared to where his shop is made a big difference.
Thanks for the help.

What about the radar compass? Did you install a new one and where did you put it? I have the same setup but have not spent the money on the compass. Wonder if I can use the compass from the Robertson Auto pilot?

Wonder if I can use the compass from the Robertson Auto pilot? I did install a KVH 1000 auto compass in the tower helm, it just fits right in replacing the analog compass $295.00. I will bet that you can use the Robertson AP. Also the Sitex AIS black box @ 299.00 is really cool as it puts all the big boats on the chartplotter just like MARPA but with all the info too.
