Well, for a change we had some beautiful weather... Install is moving along nicely.

1.Smart sensor depth/temp ducer housing has been installed.
2.Radar array has been completed, signal cable connected internally, ground point installed.
3.Tower radio, external speaker, AP head, & remote spotlight control have been mounted.
4.VHF antenna wires have been snaked back to the units (one up, one down)
5.AM/FM antenna has been installed & wire back to the radio
6. Tank mount 2kw transducer has been modified (yellow tank & stainless steel lid needed to be cut & groung 1/4" in width to fit)
7. Tank mount housing has been glassed into the hull
8. Black box radar, sounder & AP computer have been mounted

If the weather cooperates, I will continue during the week (1-2 hrs a day) & keep things moving along. Hoping to have her fishable for 5/19...

Is the smart sensor simply an RD30 temp and depth probe or is it also a feed into the fish finder?

How did you locate the right spot for the thru hull transducer?

Larry,

The RD30 will be tied into the Navnet system so I do assume it will give temp to the Navnets, not depth though as they will be getting that info from the 2kw tank mounted ducer.

Are you asking about the location of the tank or the smart sensor in the rear?

I assume it has to be in the best and clearest spot from a water flow perspective and am guessing its a couple feet forward of the struts.

The center of the tank is 2' foward of the raw water pickups for the motors, a little less than 1/2 the WL length of the boat, a great spot on paper & in theory, only time will tell the real story.

On the bright side, if the location doesn't work, I will not have a hole thru the hull to glass in :)

Chris, Interested in a follow up on your 2kw tank mounted ducer.

How do you like ref fish box. I saw one post where you said one was not working. I am close to get a bigger boat. Are the ref fish boxes worth the cost and trouble?

Thanks

I have all 3 boxes chilled. They are definatly worth the extra cost. I won't get another boat without them.

Thanks Tom.
Boats shows in Virginia next week and then again in a week or 2!
Your boat should get some good coverage. Hope it sells soon, GL

Is VB Boats going to the shows?

I hope it sells soon also. Would like to get it done before the season really kicks in.

Yes, they are going to the shows. They were working on the flyer with boats they were listing.
