Heading Sensor?

Do I need a seperate heading sensor for radar overlay on the Furuno Navnet or will the sensor & info from my Simrad AP26 give all the information needed for the overlay function to work?

I was thinking the same thing. We are adding the AP26 this year. We have the furuno navnet system and a Northstar 6000 chartplotter

I was talking to my electronics guy and he said we do not need a seperate heading sensor for the overlay. You may need a wire that probably cost about 40 bucks.
